The International Council for Animal Welfare (“ICAW,” "we," "our," or "us"), a US 501(c)(3) organization, values your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information. This policy complies with applicable privacy laws, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), and other relevant U.S. state and international laws.

For any subscription to our communications, the personal data that may be collected by our team includes:

2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information for sending you communications. We may also use your information to improve our websites and campaigns. By collecting visitor behavior statistics, we are able to measure interest in our various campaigns and programs and use this information to better serve you and make our advocacy efforts more effective.
Under no circumstances will the data collected by ICAW be sold, exchanged, or transmitted for marketing purposes.

ICAW uses service providers to whom it shares your data when necessary for email dispatch. These providers comply with their own privacy policies available on their websites: Klaviyo, Mailchimp, Hubspot. Specific agreements are in place for data transfers outside the EU (notably for Klaviyo).
These providers have limited access to your personal data, only to carry out their services. Our teams have ensured adequate guarantees and compliance with strict confidentiality, use, and data protection conditions.
How is your personal data secured?
ICAW implements appropriate technical and organizational measures to ensure a security level appropriate to the risk. We regularly review these measures to ensure your data remains protected to the best possible extent. In addition, our providers are subject to security and confidentiality obligations concerning personal data.
How long is your data retained?
Your personal identification data (name, first name, postal code, email address) will be deleted one year after your unsubscription. Unsubscription can be initiated by you or by ICAW.

Please also note that this policy applies only to websites and publications maintained by ICAW and not to external sites or affiliated organizations and companies.
