Director of Digital Mobilization

About ICAW: The International Council for Animal Welfare is a campaigning organization that advocates for improved animal welfare standards in the supply chains of the world's largest food companies. We were founded in September 2024 and are a small team of highly experienced, dedicated animal advocates. We focus solely on high impact, tractable issues that will reduce the greatest amount of suffering for farmed animals globally. The exclusive focus of our organization is running and developing creative campaigns and tactics to become maximally effective at influencing food companies to make a positive change for animals. Every team member is expected to be a motivated contributor to achieving our ambitious goals. 

The Role: We are hiring a Director of Digital Mobilization to lead our efforts in growing and activating our supporter base to drive a high volume of impactful digital actions targeting companies. As part of a new organization, this role offers a unique opportunity to build our digital mobilization strategy from the ground up. This person will be instrumental in mobilizing supporters to engage directly in campaigns and take targeted actions that put meaningful pressure on companies to drive change. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing large-budget digital ad campaigns and successfully rallying digital audiences to take action, along with a creative, outside-the-box approach to developing new, untested strategies for mobilization. Familiarity with or a strong interest in AI tools to enhance campaign effectiveness is also highly valued. This is a remote, highly self-directed role that may require occasional international and domestic travel a few times per year and does not involve managing direct reports.

Job responsibilities: 

  • Brainstorm and iterate creative digital marketing tactics to drive total volume of campaign actions and building an active base of digital volunteers

  • Cultivate, maintain, and mobilize list of digital supporters to drive high volumes of digital actions for campaigns

  • Develop and test tactics to influence individual decision makers from campaign targets via digital ads and actions

  • Run effective digital advertising campaigns to build supporter list and drive actions

  • Research and implement AI tools to increase efficiency and maximize impact of digital campaigns

  • Determine the strategy to manage a lean social media presence as a platform to run effective digital ads and grow digital actions

  • Identify the need for and manage outside contractors to achieve optimal results 

  • Improve SEO for brand and campaigns


Salary: Applicants with a minimum relevant experience of three years are welcome to apply. The salary for this position is dependent on relevant experience, especially related to corporate campaigns, animal advocacy, digital marketing and mobilization, and proficiency with AI tools. The salary range for this position, dependent on experience, is $70,000-$110,000.
